HOREX presents the production models on the basis of the forerunning limited edition models. This allows HOREX to exhibit top products in premium quality made in Germany in a newly defined high-end segment of the motorcycle market – performance and individualisation on the highest level.

HOREX will start the new motorcycling year of 2016 with the well-advertised world premiere of the new HOREX VR6 production models, which have been developed over the winter by the young and ambitious team in Landsberg am Lech. So we can look forward to the moment when the covers come off on 3 March 2016 at the Dortmund Motorcycle Show and the new HOREX VR6 models are ceremonially unveiled.

Indeed, the trade show year starts for HOREX in Zurich on 18 February. If you have not yet had the opportunity to see the HOREX VR6 Silver Edition and HOREX VR6 Black close up, take the opportunity to do so at Swiss Moto in Zurich from 18 to 21 February. The two limited-edition models will be on display there in front of the exhibition, to start the countdown for the world premieres in March…

The SNOWDANCE Independent Film Festival is being held again this year for the third time in Landsberg am Lech, a festival for film makers from all over the world that is one of a kind as well. HOREX is on board as one of the main sponsors of this independent film festival along with SKY, Paulaner and a few other firms. It was initiated by actor Heiner Lauterbach and director Tom Bohn and is where the “HOREX Award for the Best Director of the Festival” is presented.

“HOREX meets Landsberg” is the slogan for the first-ever showing of the new HOREX VR6 in Landsberg. At the film festival, HOREX and 3C-Carbon Group AG will be providing a special look at the new high-end product from Landsberg am Lech to interested Landsberg residents and the many celebrities attending, including Heiner Lauterbach, Til Schweiger and Hannes Jaenicke.

The dazzling white guest of honour is to be unveiled on the evening of the film festival premier: the unique HOREX VR6 SNOWDANCE. The HOREX team has crafted an incredibly special motorcycle especially for the film festival. The firm has produced another real eye-catcher and demonstrated its capabilities in giving the bike a beautiful white-crystalline paintjob that glitters in the sun like fine newly fallen snow.

Shiny silver is now following the black attack. After the successful return to the motorcycle market, things are coming fast and furious from the revamped HOREX. After kick-off with the hugely successful VR6 Silver Edition, now comes the next highlight – the VR6 Black Edition. The difference: the new model is a pure single-seater and can therefore be optionally ordered with a cafe racer handlebar configuration. Otherwise, it also combines understatement with cutting-edge technologies and a unique lightweight construction concept.

After taking over the traditional brand, only a few components remained from the previous VR6,including engine, fuel tank, swing arm and frame; nevertheless, all the parts have been revised very extensive. The characteristic unique selling point of the HOREX continues to be the exceptional 1.2-liter six-cylinder engine in VR technology; since its revision, its power development is much more harmonious and homogeneous. The peak power is now 170 hp (125 kW) at 9,300 rpm, and the maximum torque is 138 Nm. The drive thus turns out to be very strong in all speed ranges. “But we do not define ourselves primarily according to power,” says Managing Director Karsten Jerschke. “The main focus was on improving the drivability of the cycle, which is as unique as the VR6 itself.”

Top level manufacturing at 3C-Carbon in Landsberg am Lech

The outstanding lightweight competence of the 3C-Carbon Group appears in the VR6 models amongst other parts in the complex lightweight construction of the rear frame This has been completely realised in from of a highly stable, structural carbon fibre base. The seat is made of genuine saddle leather, including the embossed HOREX logo. Overall, the new bike weight is a whopping 35 kilograms less than its initial version.

In the Black Edition, the 3C-Carbon development team presented a further technical highlight in the form of the completely newly designed carbon fibre-reinforced plastic control head frame, which makes a significant contribution to further reducing the weight by more than five kilograms.

Production models will follow in spring 2016

Along with its sister model, the special HOREX VR6 Black Edition is already available in a limited edition of 33. The retail price is 68,500 euros. Interested customers can sign up before the end of the year at www.HOREX.com. The special Silver Edition was sold out within a few days.

Both limited editions give an initial glimpse of the first production models, which go on sale in the spring of 2016. They will be based on the limited editions and will cost 35,000-40,000 euros.

On the eve of the symposium, HOREX invited to an exclusive dealer presentation in the “Kulturspeicher” location in Würzburg. Together with “bike and business”, HOREX offered a forum for dedicated brainstorming between the trade and the industry about the ideal implementation strategies for the future HOREX sales concept. The focus of the event beside the presentation of the new model range was therefore the discussion with the elite of German dealers. Also it was not possible to invite all the interested dealers, the numerous and intensive expert discussions generated plenty new ideas and suggestions so that the HOREX customers can look forward to a unique attractive sales and service concept in 2016.
